Harvard University treats its middle- and working-class students, how shall we say: differently. This post and video is the beginning of telling my story of confronting this injustice toward me and others like me. Don’t be fooled: Harvard works extremely hard to keep this reality, and those who try to speak out about it quiet–at any cost. But you’ve all watched the news. Everyone is on social media. You can even literally see it with your own eyes just walking around the campus.
But, honestly, does any of this come as a great surprise? My guess is: probably not.
My personal journey at Harvard, trying to finish what I came here to do, is just one among many stories. The goal of this campaign and project is to not only to help my own situation, but also others who have faced similar discrimination, targeting, harassment, second-class treatment, and retaliation.
In other words: to do my part to make this place into ONE HARVARD: a place where we can send our best and brightest, regardless of where they came from and how they earned their place at the “Harvards of the world”–confident they will be treated with dignity, equality, and respect.
Harvard has made it impossible for me to complete what I came here to do.
