Things have been quiet around here the past few days for good reason.
Introducing: The Class of 99(%) Podcast. Coming (Very) Soon.
We’ve been working tirelessly on a format–above and beyond our videos on Harvard’s misconduct, as well as those from other quote-unquote “elite universities” (which will continue here)–to do a few new things:
The Class of 99 Podcast (Goals)
Including, but not limited to:
(1) Tell longer-form stories about the Tales of Two Harvards campaign/project.
(2) Talk about the stories we’ve been hearing–from all corners of the “elite” college world, beyond just Harvard–about the inequality, mistreatment, abuse, even humiliation toward working- and middle class students.
(3) Open a dialog about the real elite, in not only the educational world, but elsewhere, everywhere. Recent events have only reinforced that we were already on the right track in adding this connected-but-separate part to our project.
(4) Create a forum for others–from students, to faculty, to employees–within these “elite colleges” who, I’ve learned, have many-many stories of their own to tell. There are stories that are eerily similar to my own (though maybe not so concentrated on a single person, but nevertheless), and need a place to be heard.
(5) Reach our to our brothers and sisters in the so-called “working world”–from “white-collar” office workers, to “blue-collar” workers in the trades, to people “hustling” a living somewhere in between–about how much we all have in common. It turns out “elite” is more about where you come from, not where you are–or have reached.
(6) And, most importantly: open the goals of the more narrow Tale of Two Harvards project to a broader group of regular people like me and you, who have stories to tell, want to change things wherever they may be, and who believe in justice and fair treatment for all of us who put in an honest day of work–five, or more, days a week.
Like Tale of Two Harvards, The Class of 99 Podcast will take shape as we progress–and through our growing, though slowly but steadily, supporters and friends.
So stay tuned. Very tuned.
First episode coming soon, and (many) more after that.
