Harvard Graduate Student Union (HGSU-UAW) Supports Me

GREAT NEWS: the Harvard Graduate Student Union (HGSU-UAW Local 5118) is now officially supporting me–and, by extension, the aims of this campaign.

As a result of my status with the University during their recent (and even longer) pattern of abuse, the HGSU–and their generous, and brilliant, leaders–are advocating on my behalf to correct the unmerited (and unprovoked) mistreatment and violations of my rights under our collective contract, and beyond.

Their representatives, with whom I’ve spoken in the past weeks, described my situation as “the worst case of targeted abuse against a single student [they’ve] ever heard of.” Unsolicited. This, needless to say, was the source of mixed emotions.

But–in the end–not only is that description accurate, based on talking to a lot of people and entities over the years, it’s reassuring–after months, and indeed years, of “gaslighting” by Harvard.

Blaming the victim. Telling me that up is down and that day is night. And telling me that I deserve their, in fact, unjustified (even illegal) “punishments” and (most successful) attempts to ruin my life–over the course of months, and years, of sustained and deliberate abuse.

Harvard has the temerity to do this, and openly so, because we let them get away with it.

Help us put a stop to this pattern of illegal abuse, and impunity in inflicting it on its least privileged students and affiliates.
