My Academic Work: History of U.S. Dollar [INTRO VIDEO]

I’ve had a few people approach me with the request, or advice, to share some of my academic work on this site. For those of you who don’t know what I “do” (or have been trying to do) is a History of the United States Dollar.

But my goal wasn’t to make this campaign/project a showcase for my (boring) work. That said, I thought sharing select short-form pieces of “digital history” I made some time ago (eight years)–as well as maybe some select writings down the line–might be of interest.

Keep in mind: this was me with eight fewer years of experience with production, talking to a camera, and all fun stuff.

CONTEXT: This is the Introductory piece to something I call(ed) “The Imperial Dollar Project” (named after my in-progress, but let’s-see-if-Harvard-“lets-me”-complete, dissertation) to tell stories about American Currency. Some people have asked me to resurrect the digital-history project–with everything I’ve learned, academically as well as on the production side–and make some new videos.

I don’t know. You guys let me know if that’d be interesting. Of course, I have to deal with the current, now-years-long, Harvard drama first, but I’m not opposed to it–in principle–if the interest is there. It’s definitely a fun and interesting topic to me.
